The Tuesday Run
Why we close our doors one day a week to bring Chicago to East Moline.
"Are you open on Tuesdays?" It's the most common question we get. The answer is always no. But we're not taking the day off.
Every Tuesday morning, long before the sun comes up, our family gets into our box truck and drives five hours round-trip to Chicago. We visit our trusted wholesale distributors, the same ones we've been working with for decades.
We don't order from a catalog and hope for the best. We hand-pick the produce. We inspect the fresh noodles. We load up the specific brands of sauces, wrappers, and snacks that our customers have asked us for. Over the last 30 years, we've upgraded our truck three times to handle the growing demand.
This is the secret to our selection and our prices. By cutting out the middleman and doing the driving ourselves, we can offer Quad Cities residents the exact same authentic ingredients you'd find in a major Chicago market, without the markup.
So yes, we're closed on Tuesdays. We'd rather be closed one day a week than compromise on the freshness and authenticity our customers expect the other six days.
